HSP TEST SCORE

Ramin Entry #8

For some reasons I’ve been holding off doing the test for HSP (Highly Sensitive Person) for 3 weeks. Perhaps I was unsure and therefore afraid of the results that I may not be an HSP and that I was just seeking attention to get the validation I needed? Or perhaps I was afraid of how much of an HSP I am? I know that this is counterintuitive and counterproductive, but I tend to go back and forth with these kinds of dilemmas and considerations, citing the 5-7 stages of acceptance/grief.

Well I finally mustered up the courage to complete the test by Dr. Elaine Aron (the founder of HSP).

I scored a 27 out of 27 questions!

14 is the average value to be regarded as an HSP.

So what does this mean? This mean that I am a very Highly Sensitive Person. This is a positive reinforcement and validation. I can now really learn to adjust my life accordingly.

Awareness is key, for it is one of the most powerful and grounding tools we can equip ourselves with. It helps us be more self-aware as we develop more humility, compassion, empathy, and love for ourselves and others. Please be kind to yourself and others. God bless🙏

“If you answered more than fourteen of the questions as true of yourself, you are probably highly sensitive. But no psychological test is so accurate that an individual should base his or her life on it. We psychologists try to develop good questions, then decide on the cut off based on the average response.

If fewer questions are true of you, but extremely true, that might also justify calling you highly sensitive. Also, although there are as many men as women who are highly sensitive, when taking the test highly sensitive men answer slightly fewer items as true than do highly sensitive women.”
