THE PURSUIT OF AUTHENTICITY AND TRUTH

Ramin Entry #40

9 – 16 January 2023

The pursuit of authenticity and truth is often perceived as madness by individuals who can’t yet understand its underlying purpose and value. This is often misconstrued and ridiculed, followed by judgments, persecutions, and alienations.

The capacity of the pursuit of authenticity and truth would only be understood by fortunate ones whom themselves have embarked on such a personal journey.

A passionate, nurturing, and grueling journey of self-compassion and self-discovery. A journey of bravery and kindness. A journey of unpredictability and selflessness. A journey of possibilities and opportunities. A journey of openness and transparency. A journey of learning and wisdom. A journey of peacefulness and spirituality.

A deep journey of stripping myself utterly bare and naked to uncover my core essence. A journey of further unraveling that core essence to search for an even deeper truth of the purpose of my life and “Who am I?”.

My gratefulness overflowing to God to have orchestrated an alignment of the convergence of truth in the form of an invitation. Never have I imagined, nor pretended to be qualified (with only credentials in self-independent studies of Psychology) to have been personally invited by the legendary and renowned Professor Irwanto, to be a guest speaker for the final presentation of his Doctorate of Psychology Program. In the same manner, to be bestowed such an opportunity and regarded as a peer of such standing is an absolute honor. Not to mention its public live broadcast was in and itself an experience beyond reality bordered by surrealism.

Something worthy was recognized in my pursuit of authenticity and truth; this is an acknowledgment and validation that I’m on the right path and doing something right. From that discussion, I realized that there’s much to be done and much to research in the context of Indonesia. I pray that I’ll always remain humble, grounded, and grateful as I continue my pursuit and studies.
